Title: Nice tripod for compact cameras or smartphones
Review: My smartphone has an astrophotography mode I was keen to try, but it only kicks in when the phone is absolutely stationary and needs to remain still for about two minutes. I needed a tripod, and this one looked perfect.The tripod is nice and light and when folded up is about the size of a banana – 18cm long (without the smartphone clamp), and about 5cm wide. The three legs swivel out from the top – they don’t extend – and it stands about 14cm tall. At the top of the tripod there is a screw fitting onto which you can attach a compact camera, and there’s also a clamp for smartphones which you can either attach at the bottom, or on the back which is good for taking photos of the sky, or ornate ceilings, pointing straight up. The clamp pulls open and grips the sides of the phone. It doesn’t pull very wide apart – narrowest width is about 5.5cm and the widest it goes is about 6.5cm – so don’t buy it with the intention of putting a tablet in there. The back of the clamp also has an extendable kickstand of sorts, so if you want to take a photo with your camera but don’t need the full tripod you can always unscrew the clamp, extend the kickstand, and just use that.At the top of the tripod there is a large red button. If you push this in the screw part of the tripod can now move freely on a ball joint, and when you release the button it locks in position. It feels sturdy and robust, as with the rest of the tripod.I really like this tripod and look forward to taking more pictures of the night sky, and also putting it in my case when we go on holidays.

Title: Surprisingly useful
Review: Works remarkably well, and is easy to use. I’d bought it on a whim, but it’s been earning its place in the little side pocket of the bag that carries my Manfrotto compact travel monopod. It can be fitted in seconds, and provides a stable platform for a phone camera. That’s proved surprising useful, especially as one generally doesn’t know the shutter speed that a phone camera is using. I also found it useful when taking panoramic shots, as it’s much easier to hold the camera stable and follow any tracking guidelines in a panoramic stitching app.The phone is held securely in an extensible spring-loaded clamp. There’s a standard threaded bush at the bottom , and a second at the back, allowing a choice of orientations on a tripod or monopod.The Manfrotto Smartphone Clamp easily carries my iPhone SE, even when it’s fitted in its i-Blason case. I’ve also found it useful when using my phone camera to take pictures through a microscope, by mounting the Clamp on a tabletop tripod then using that to hold the lens squarely over the eyepiece, without wobbling. Photographs taken this way are surprisingly effective.Super little gadget. I love it.

Title: Sturdy yet lightweight
Review: Bought this to go with the Manfrotto LED I got. I already have two mini tripods but I’m really pleased I got this one. The legs are very strong and stable, easy to I’ve yet hold their position when in use. You need to press the little red button to swivel the ball joint. Once it clicks, it is easy to move the head to get the angle you want. I got the version with the iPhone clamp as an extra – I mostly use it with the LED and my DSLR. The clamp is very firm and attaches to the tripod in two positions for maximum flexibility. It also has a little flip out stand on the back for use in video calls or holding the mobile upright when reading recipes. A but expensive, but I think it is very good quality and am happy with my purchase.

Title: Disappointing
Review: For a Manfrotto product this was a let down.It only works in landscape. The fold out hinge is fairly useless. The spring is very tight which keeps the phone safe but it also means it is hard to open, awkward to open while holding the phone in place and the edges are sharp too. So although it works, it is very limited and poorly designed.

Title: Great piece of kit!
Review: This is a great piece of kit that performs perfectly with any size phone as the clasps expand to almost 3.5 inches! It is manufactured to the same rigorous standards as the full size, more expensive tripods in the Manfrotto range – but with the advantage of being far more portable. It easily fits into the pockets of my walking trousers and waterproof jacket, making it ideal for those cold, wet walks when you don’t want to lug your professional gear around but still want the ability to take photos on your phone if there is a break in the weather. I would highly recommend this product and the seller.

Review: Nice little table top tripod. Made of aluminum and abs plastic. Build quality is good like with all manfrotto products. And you get 5 year warranty when you register your product which is nice as well.I put my canon 7D mk2 with battery grip and 2 batteries in it and an Arca Swiss L-bracket on this tripod with no issues. I have to mention that the camera stays upright. So didn’t mount it on an angle because I know it will get unstable that way. Just wanted to see if it could support the weight and it did with no issues. I know it’s not rated for this weight so I’m not using it for that. But good to know just in case.Operation is simple and the leg extensions is more for extra stability than gaining height because it doesn’t gain much height when fully extended.I’ve seen some videos on YouTube about this product and one guy said you can just pull and extend the legs. Although this works, I wouldn’t recommend it because the legs are plastic and run over an aluminium rail attached to the ball head. So things can wear out faster that way. Also the manual says to push the button when extending it.The ball head is very beefy and sturdy and locks in place very well. As with everything made of soft metals. Don’t crank it down, tight is tight and holds very well. Cranking it down can leave marks over time on the ball inside the head and that might affect any micro adjustments you want to make in the future.
